Sharpham Park & Kilver Court would like to invite you to Feastival – an event designed to inspire people (both young & old) to embrace a sustainable way of life

Where?

Set in the beautiful grounds of Kilver Court, Feastival will be an interactive and fun event for all, aiming to raise awareness of sustainable ‘farm to fork living’ and the charities involved – Slow Food, Food for Life Partnership, RHS Campaign for School Gardening, the Soil Association and Somerset Wildlife.

Green Fingers & Family Fun

Within the grounds, Sharpham Park will be donating an area for a local school or community project to grow their own organic vegetables. We’ve also lined up talks about the environment, local wildlife and how to grow your own veg using organic rotation, along with ‘Waitrose Sow, Grow, Cook, Eat’ initiative – an interactive area for children, linked to their sponsorship of the RHS Campaign for School Gardening.

Beautifully Green

Some of our country’s top beauty experts will be to hand, helping you discover how to live, feel and look healthy and beautiful in a more sustainable, eco-friendly way. Jo Fairley and Sarah Stacey, authors of the ‘Green Beauty Bible’ will be holding a forum titled “10 Ways to Be Naturally Gorgeous” with a team of experts, including Jane Clarke, Britain’s most respected nutritionist, Monty Saul ex-model turned complementary practitioner and yoga guru Liz Lark.

Further forums will include talks on the Environment with Tristram Stuart, author of ‘Waste:Uncovering the Global Food Scandal’ and Graham Harvey author of ‘The Carbon Fields’, as well as other hot topics with Patrick Holden Director of the Soil Association and Masterchef winner, Thomasina Miers to name but a few!

Farm Life

Farmyard animals, from rare breed sheep to long-horn cows will be on display and an area dubbed the ‘Small Holders paradise’ will be demonstrating bee keeping and how to keep hens.

Foodies

Alongside fun, foodie activities like ‘Cheese Skittles’ there will be a whole range of local producers offering you the chance to sample and purchase their produce and on Saturday enjoy the hustle and bustle of St Catherine’s Artisan Market!

Learn new culinary skills thanks to a full itinerary of cooking, baking and butchery demonstrations by such industry specialists as Martyn Nail, head chef at Claridges, Andrew Moore of Thoroughly Wild Meat, Lesley Mackley, author of numerous books on baking and Adam Fellows of

Wellness

Maintaining and sustaining your own well being is just as important as the world around you. Over the 2 days there will be help, advice and talks from a number of leading complementary health specialists including Acupuncture, Bach Flower Remedies and Osetopathy, and ‘organic makeovers’ featuring facial acupuncture and aromatherapy. There will also be mini yoga and pilates workshops and how to use the great outdoors as your own personal gym!
